NO HOTEL EXPERIENCE NEEDED!
Paid 3 week training at $21/hr.
Classroom training at San Diego College of Continuing Education, covering the following curriculum:
Food Handler Certification
Safety/OSHA training
Interviewing Skills/Resume
Soft Skills/Customer Service Skills
On the job training is provided at a unionized hotel partner for 2 weeks. Participants then have the chance to interview with hotel for employment after completion of the full 3 week program

If accepted into the program, it is likely that you will be assigned to one of the following positions below-- please carefully read the physical demands for each:
Room Attendant: On your feet most of the day, pulling carts (100lbs+), pushing carts (100lbs+), bending, lifting, making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning rooms/bathrooms.
Kitchen Steward: On your feet most of the day, pulling carts (100lbs - 200lbs), pushing carts (100lbs - 200lbs), bending, lifting, and cleaning/sanitizing kitchen equipment and utensils.
Banquet Steward/Set Up: on your feet most of the day, set up of event equipment (50lbs - 200lbs). Facilitate food service— clean tables, remove dirty dishes, replace soiled table linens, set tables, replenish supply of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes.
Position assignments are not limited to the list above and are subject to availability from our hotel partners. Candidates are required to have flexibility regarding their assignments.
We have partnered with San Diego College of Continuing Education Foundation and union hotels to offer a paid, three-week training designed for people who want to start a career in the hospitality industry. You will spend the first week of training in a classroom setting; the second and third week will be on the job training with one of our hotel partners.
