What We Do

About Us

The Partnership for a Better San Diego is the 501(c)3 arm of the San Diego & Imperial Counties Labor Council – a labor organization representing over 130 unions and 200,000 working families across the region. Since 2020,  PBSD pivoted to providing relief to working families that were impacted by the pandemic. PBSD serves over 10,000 families annually. The High Road Hiring Hall Program (HRHHP) is a grassroots effort to improve the conditions of on-demand work. HRHHP is a nascent program of the CLC that’s primary focus is to match workers to on demand shifts requested by union employers. Currently the program is recruiting, training and matching for jobs within the hospitality industry with the plan to expand to other industries and sectors.
